LADY GAGA FT. BEYONCE - TELEPHONE [MUSIC VIDEO]

Ok, so you must have been living under a rock... like on an asteroid... in outta space... shooting through the infinate galaxies and milky-ways to have not seen the new Lady Gaga video [featuring beyonce].

Since it's premier on Thursday night (I think), I can only describe my viewing experience as... Hmm... one word to define and summerise my feelings caused by the video content...

INCREDIBLE!

and as for the video it's self...

PHENOMENAL!!!

From the 'Jail House Rock' prison scene to the patriotic trailor-trash denim-clag dancers, the paper-mache head-gear,  to the even the use of "The Bride's" 'Pussy Wagon' from Kill Bill.

Inspired by (my favourite movi director & writer, Quentin Tarantino), the epic nine-minute whirlwind of sex, glamour, colours, glitter, violence, dance and even basic dialect, comes from director Jonas Akerlund, who Gaga teamed with on “Paparazzi” - another amazing video, in it's own right.

Seeee....

I genuinely think this could go in the Tate as a peice of moving art! Just makes me think what the hell happend in Beyonce's 'Video Phone' video... a good video, in it's own right... but next to Gaga's, its a poor man's attempt at ambitious, and failing.

Sorry Bey, I love you, but this video has it hands down - I'll be outraged if this video doesn't pick up a few gongs come awards season. However, we are only three months into the year, and definately a few ablums and videos away from prematurely declaring it 'The Best of 2010', however until then Gaga has my vote. 

BEY BEY SNAGS NRJ AWARDS

Beyonce won the NRJ Greatest Artist of the Decade Award in Cannes, France.

Other performers for the night were Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, and Kelly Rowland and David Guetta.

GOING GAGA AT THE GRAMMYS

Lady Gaga has joined the list of performers for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, taking place on 31st January at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, others performing include Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell. .

Gaga has been nominated for five Grammys, included Song of the Year for “Poker Face” and Album of The Year for The Fame.

The Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West are nominated for six awards, while Jay-Z earned as many as Gaga.

BEYONCE: OFFICIALLY QUEEN OF THE DECADE

Beyonce’s Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It] has been voted best music video of the decade – voted for by fans of the music website Muzu.tv

The second most popular video was Fatboy Slim’s Weapon Of Choice. Madonna’s Hung Up came third, followed by Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and Eminem’s Stan was voted fifth.

Pretty darn good choices I think - two very concurring thumbs up :) 

BADDEST CHICK IN THE GAME

Our girl Bey (Beyoncé) will add one more honor to her array of accolades when she accepts Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award. The presentation will be made at Billboard’s Women in Music brunch in New York, recognizing the year’s top 30 women in the music business.

“Beyoncé is a multiplatinum artist and a multitalented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman of the Year Award was created to honor,” Billboard editorial director Bill Werde says.

BEYONCE WANTS EVERYONE TO HAVE A BIT OF HER EGO

The Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Beyoncé (or Bey, to you & me) has agreed a deal with Coty Inc. (I used to work there!) to develop and launch her debut signature fragrance - "so, thanks Mr. Hilfigure, but I'm going at it on my own" ;) The fragrance hasn't been named yet - but there has been rumours that she cannot use 'fierce' (a la 'Sacha Fierce') due to copyright laws with Abercrome & Finch, but it is still scheduled for release in North and South America in early 2010 (plans to roll it out across Europe and key markets worldwide will happen later in the year). ...Dammit!!! I wished I still worked here - long enough to meet Bey.. Oh well! Another time maybe...

KANYE BELIEVE IT!!!!

LOL! Saw that in the paper (had me in stiches!)

So at the MVTV Awards Kanye's had a few too many swigs of henny and jumps up on the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for ‘Best Female Video’. Kanye grabs the mic and slurrs *yeezy voice*  “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’m going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best of all time!”

The audience apprantly went wild and boo'ed his ass off stage - poor Taylor was left in shock and slightly heartbroken, I can imagine.  

Imagine some crazy ass rapper dude jumping on stage, snatching the mic from you and telling the whole world, what you have worked so friggin hard for isn't worth diddly-squat next to (arguably) the most  beautiful woman in the world. Taylor is only... 19, right? She can only dreeeeeam to be anything compared to Bey, but to have that moment, where you thought you were one step closer snathed away from you is the ultimate piss take!!! 

Now, Im a big fan of Kanye (pssst! Call me baby! lol) but that just wasn't right. Kanye knows if anyone tried that on him... well... exactly!

Annnnywhoooo, Beyonce later went on to win an award for Video of the Year (for ‘Single Ladies') she... [this is nice] gave up her time to call Taylor up and give her another chance to re-do her acceptance speech without interruption. 

Everyone together now... "aaaahhhhh" :)

It doesn't stop there... Oh no!

Kanye later posted an apology on his blog, saying “I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment. Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade…I’m sorry to my fans if I let you down guys… I’m sorry to my friends at MTV … I will apologize to Taylor. I’m still very happy for Taylor. I feel really bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry.” 

This must have been after he sobered up or after his publicist kicked the s*** out of him. lol

But wait... there's more!

Kanye went on Jay Leno the night after and apologised on American TV (it takes a big man to do that - no homo! lol)

                                            

MTV MUSIC AWARDS 2009

The MTV 2009 Music Video Awards went ahead the other day (Sunday 13 Sept) and true to typical MTV form the show caused... (what's a nice way to put it)... *cough*... a little contraversy.

The show took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and was hosted by our very own Russel Brand, the show included Lady GaGa covered in blood, Taylor Swift performing on a subway train, revealations (that Pink & Shakera sharing stylists), MJ tribute, Lil' Mama's... urm... guest appearane, and Kanye having yet another tantrum.

BEYONCE'S ROCKING FORMULA 1

No, its not a new clothing line.

Formula 1 have unveiled a new project of the first ever 'F1 Rocks'.

Formula1 will be working in conjunction with Universal Music to stage the first event at the Singapore Grand Prix on the 26th Sept.

Now I'm not a fan of F1 (no matter how cute Jeson Button is) but LG have signed up as sponsors to the three-day race event and will feature performances from... get this...

Beyonce! Black Eyed Peas, NERD, ZZ Top, Simple Minds and Chinese singer Jacky Cheung. 

Um, I think its safe to say, "Yes, i'll be tuning in, Button or no Button" LOL ;)

Gaga goes... urm even more gaga.

There's something about her that makes me think, an over-eger stylist from a Tim Burton movie set, (early 80's) Madonna and Gwen Stafani (circa L.A.M.B album) were all swirled around in a little Interscope (records) cocktail, and regurgitated out little Lady Gaga.

She's so cookoo, you think she must be manufactured right? But at the same time, can someone who appears to be this 'disturbed' not be real - You couldn't make this stuff up... or could you...?

It's such a bizarre little video... but you know what, I kinda like it. How incredibly creative... Go Gaga!!!

Kan-yeezy does it again... oh, and some girl called Rhianna is kinda featured in the video (look out for her "cameo" LOL)
