WOSSY QUITS THE BEEB

Noooooooooo!!!

Jonathan Ross (one of my favourite TV presenters) has announced he will not be re-newing his contract with the BBC in July.

Here's the full story below from Music Week...

Jonathan Ross is quitting the BBC, depriving the music industry of one of its few high-profile slots to showcase acts.

Ross, who presents a BBC 1 Friday chat show as well as a Radio 2 show, announced the news this morning.

He says in a statement, “Over the last two weeks I have decided not to re-negotiate when my current contract comes to an end. I would like to make it perfectly clear that no negotiations ever took place and that my decision is not financially motivated.

“I signed my current contract with the BBC having turned down more lucrative offers from other channels because it was where I wanted to be and – as I have said before – would happily have stayed there for any fee they cared to offer, but there were other considerations.”

Following the demise of Top Of The Pops, Ross’s Friday night show was one of the few prime-time slots on the BBC showcasing music. Ross’s contract ends in July.
